La r\u00e9duction de la dose est bien meilleure.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>South Texas Project utilisait depuis longtemps des couvertures en laine de plomb pour prot\u00e9ger son panneau d&rsquo;\u00e9chantillonnage primaire, une zone du site situ\u00e9e \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur de Chemistry qui est tr\u00e8s fr\u00e9quent\u00e9e. Ces couvertures en laine de plomb ont \u00e9t\u00e9 fix\u00e9es au panneau de l&rsquo;\u00e9chantillon primaire \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide d&rsquo;aimants ind\u00e9pendants \u00e0 haute r\u00e9sistance qui se sont attach\u00e9s aux \u0153illets. Avec les couvertures tourn\u00e9es sur le c\u00f4t\u00e9 et la nature impr\u00e9cise du placement de l&rsquo;aimant pour la suspension, les couvertures en laine de plomb se sont affaiss\u00e9es. Les couvertures en laine de plomb standard ne convenaient tout simplement pas \u00e0 l&rsquo;application. Le blindage n&rsquo;\u00e9tait pas esth\u00e9tique et n&rsquo;att\u00e9nuait pas tr\u00e8s bien. Par cons\u00e9quent, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 n\u00e9cessaire d&rsquo;utiliser un support de blindage suppl\u00e9mentaire \u00e0 l&rsquo;entr\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>South Texas Project a cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 remplacer cet ensemble de blindage mal adapt\u00e9. NPO a mis au point un ensemble simple de tuiles magn\u00e9tiques T-Flex en bismuth qui correspondent exactement aux dimensions requises. Les tuiles magn\u00e9tiques mesuraient 12&Prime; de large x 18&Prime; de haut (305 mm x 457 mm) et pesaient 44 lb (20 kg) chacune. Ces nouveaux blindages am\u00e9lior\u00e9s s&#8217;embo\u00eetent parfaitement les uns dans les autres, ce qui permet une excellente r\u00e9duction de la dose. Les relev\u00e9s sont pass\u00e9s de 6 mRem\/h (60 \u03bcSv\/h) \u00e0 1,5 mRem\/h (15 \u03bcSv\/h), soit une r\u00e9duction de 75 %.<\/p>\n<p>En outre, STP a remplac\u00e9 son rack de blindage par un nouveau. Ce nouveau rack contenait des couvertures de bismuth T-Flex, cr\u00e9ant une zone de blindage de 0,91 m x 1,83 m (3&prime; de large x 6&prime; de haut). Le rack est \u00e9galement dot\u00e9 d&rsquo;un couvercle en acier afin de le rendre plus esth\u00e9tique et de l&rsquo;int\u00e9grer \u00e0 l&rsquo;environnement du bureau.<\/p>\n<p>Alors qu&rsquo;ils avaient utilis\u00e9 ce support suppl\u00e9mentaire dans le pass\u00e9 avec les anciennes couvertures, le nouveau blindage T-Flex au bismuth \u00e9tait si efficace que le support suppl\u00e9mentaire n&rsquo;\u00e9tait plus n\u00e9cessaire. Le support a \u00e9t\u00e9 laiss\u00e9 en place en cas d&rsquo;urgence et pour r\u00e9duire encore la dose.
