Les joints Cono contribuent de mani\u00e8re significative \u00e0 la dose lors du d\u00e9montage de la t\u00eate du r\u00e9acteur et, plus r\u00e9cemment, lors du d\u00e9capage par cavitation de la t\u00eate du r\u00e9acteur dans les r\u00e9acteurs \u00e0 eau pressuris\u00e9e. NPO a utilis\u00e9 du tungst\u00e8ne T-Flex pour obtenir un blindage HVL (couche de demi-valeur) contre le Co-60. De simples bandes Velcro sont utilis\u00e9es pour une fixation rapide. Le blindage a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u avec une certaine souplesse pour tenir compte de certaines dimensions inconnues des joints Cono eux-m\u00eames.
